The Documentation and Image Center of the Multidisciplinary Institute of the UFRRJ (CEDIM – IM/UFRRJ) aims to collect, digitize and preserve collections of historical interest, especially those related to the History of the Baixada Fluminense, state of Rio de Janeiro. Based on parameters of Public History and Digital Humanities, it puts that documentation at the disposal of members of the university and of society in general.

CEDIM works in partnerships with institutions and individuals to collect and digitize its documentation, which has resulted in a varied archive made up of journals, institutional documents, interviews and research instruments prepared by its researchers. Main subjects include the history of work and of both male and female workers, political history and social history, as well as issues related to culture, education and the humanities.
